Recently, Driving Miss Daisy Nelson Bay took a client out for a day trip and picnic to Blackbutt Reserve.

They walked along the boardwalk and enjoyed looking at the various enclosures, learning about some of our native animals and trying to find the ones that were hiding. Phone cameras and video were great to capture some of the beauty on the day and watch it later in the week.

In September, Bethany from Driving Miss Daisy Wollongong Central had the pleasure of attending the 10th Illawarra Annual Dementia Forum.

The Dementia Forum was well attend, in part because virtually everyone  knows someone living with Dementia in one of its many forms. Sometimes the needs of a person with Dementia means that Daisy services are help and care for the occasion.

Bethany had a wonderful day gaining more knowledge to help support clients and understand what other services are available for both dementia sufferers and those as carers.

Exploring Op Shops with Driving Miss Daisy Burnside

It was an exciting day when our Burnside SA region Daisy, Pete, took his retired RAN Officer client, David and his coordinator out to visit three op shops, looking for a replacement for the plate he had broken from his set. They had a lovely drive to the op shops with David telling stories about his time in the Royal Australian Navy on HMAS Melbourne, Australia’s third and largest aircraft carrier.
