The story behind our world leading companion driving service

After serving over one million clients across New Zealand and the UK,
Driving Miss Daisy is now well established across Australia.

DRIVING MISS DAISY

After great success in New Zealand and the UK, Stan Zets and Alan Branch brought Driving Miss Daisy to Australia in mid 2020. Driving Miss Daisy’s goal is to give help and assistance to people in need in every local community. Very special Daisy franchise business owners and carefully selected Daisy drivers are ready to  make a difference in the lives of members of our society across all ages but most specially for the elderly, disabled and those wanting independence to go out and get things done on a daily basis.

Today, we have franchises operating in many areas of New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Canberra with new franchises opening regularly across Australia.

We are proud of the people in our Daisy team as they give added fun, laughter, respect and friendship into the lives of their clients. We look forward to taking many thousands of people on thoroughly enjoyable companion journeys as we grow our national network.

THE DRIVING MISS DAISY
STORY

In 2004, Driving Miss Daisy NZ co-founder Melanie Harper started driving her Aunt Trish to appointments in Havelock North, New Zealand.

Trish no longer drove herself and enjoyed the companionship of Melanie driving her to her appointments. Soon after in 2005, when Aunt Trish told Melanie that she wanted to pay for each journey, plans for the Driving Miss Daisy franchise commenced. Melanie and her husband Jack travelled around the world collecting ideas and Driving Miss Daisy was launched. Today, Driving Miss Daisy is proudly the number one companion driving service in New Zealand.

In 2014, Alan Branch and Stan Zets met Melanie and Jack to plan the international expansion of Driving Miss Daisy into the United Kingdom. Over several years, this project enabled Alan and Stan to truly appreciate how much people needed the Driving Miss Daisy services.

Backed by the success of New Zealand and the United Kingdom, the planning for the launch commenced for Australia. Alan Branch and Stan Zets are the directors of Driving Miss Daisy Franchising Australia Pty Ltd which through its national franchise, provides help and assistance for people in need as well as Australian based small business opportunities for each Daisy franchise business owner.
